I have taken part in 2D and 3D projects across many software. I have used so many artistic softwares and so many game engines. Even in my time, I have seen the constant creation of new versions. New things to adapt to. New things to learn. New possibilities.
I have a tendency to stretch myself, and I will not stop doing so. I will continue to create art in both the realms of 2D and 3D. I will continue to learn and adapt to all new softwares. I will continue to allow myself to learn, progress, and do things in new and better ways than possible before.
My abilities have room to improve within what is currently available. So I will simply have to catch up and continue to leapfrog my former self as the constant improvement with time and technology lend each other hand-in-hand.
My role in this industry could be just about anything. I have the ability to model, unwrap, texture, and animate 3D and 2D objects, characters, and environments. If it is something I have yet to add to my skill set, then I will be even more thrilled to do it.
When my former roommate asked me to be his Art Lead on a boat-based multiplayer game called Carrier that he was making in Unreal 5.0.3, I told him I had never modeled a boat before but I would love to! So I did and I got to model two ships and texture one of them. I also got to model and animate the main player character while taking over the Project Lead Role and maintaining my Art Lead role for the second semester of the project.
When my Gothic Literature class wanted us to create a creative final, I got to create what I think is my artistically best-made 2D-pixel game where you get to play as Dracula and are able to turn into your base vampire form, a swarm of rats, a scarlet mist, and a large dog; just as Dracula does in the book.
When I was tasked with making two of my best environments in a single semester, I pulled it off by recreating the Sinnoh League area from Pokemon Diamond & Pearl in an updated 3D look as well as an environment straight out of my comic that I created cell shaded and outline post processors for and later got to use in an animation created in engine.
I have pushed myself beyond my field. I have delved into learning practical and engine programming. Most recently I placed myself in a Digital Video major environment so I could add audio to my skills; the main part of creating a game where I feel I lack the most.
I can program in Unity, Unreal, C++, C#, and HTML.
I can produce and edit audio/visual utilizing Adobe Audition, Premiere Pro, and After Effects.
I can create art in Maya, 3ds Max, ZBrush, Photoshop, Illustrator, Substance Sampler, Substance Painter, and After Effects.
More than anything, I want to help create games that are fun for many people. I want to help create games with unique possibilities and features never before seen. I want to create the next generation of existing properties where I can leave my stamp on games others are bound to see. I want to be remembered for something more than myself. I want to leave my name on projects and feel proud to do so. For that, I will never stop improving, creating, and innovating.
